Amy first encountered Haiti in 2002 on a mission trip and then visited again while serving in the Dominican Republic a couple years later. Amy then returned to help train short-term mission team leaders for post-quake relief efforts in 2010. During that trip she met her son, Cowen, who was abandoned at a local children’s hospital. Throughout the two-year adoption process and multiple visits, Amy fell in love with the Haitian people, cultures and traditions.
In addition to Cowen, Amy is mom to two very active seven year olds, a cat, a dog and a bearded dragon, leaving absolutely no free time for any hobbies. Amy works in administration for Northwest United Methodist Church and as a wedding officiant for Wows and Vows.
